Corporate Officers

Albert J. Berlin, Chairman and CFO

Albert J. Berlin founded Video Corporation of America in 1972 after years of experience in manufacturing and operations with several Fortune 500 corporations. Under his leadership, VCA has grown from a 3-person organization into an award-winning firm with over 100 employees in 3 locations. Mr. Berlin was recognized in 1993 when VCA was voted one of the top 20 companies in New Jersey.

Born in New York, Mr. Berlin now resides in Central New Jersey with his wife. He served in the armed forces and holds a bachelor’s degree from Rutgers University. Mr. Berlin has served on the boards of the International Communication Industry Association (ICIA), Board of Trustees and Planning, the Resource Development Committee of the Edison and Piscataway Chamber of Commerce, and the Raritan Valley Community College Foundation. He was also a founding member of the Professional Systems Network Incorporated (PSNI) organization. As a lifetime advocate for improving the quality of life for mentally and physically challenged individuals, Mr. Berlin was a founding member of the non-profit Alternatives, Inc.

 

David M. Berlin, President

A native of Somerset, NJ, David received a bachelor’s degree with honors in both Accounting and Computer Science from the University of Maryland. After college, he joined Johnson & Johnson’s Finance Department and would later move on to join a small computer consulting firm specializing in mainframe and general ledger consolidation systems. In 1987, David joined his family’s business as a sales representative. Shortly thereafter, he founded the VCA Computer Imaging Division (later renamed Fusion), the first company of its kind to make use of the newly introduced “Personal Computer” for professional video use. In 1992, David expanded the vision and scope of VCA by opening their Manhattan office, while holding the position of Director of New York Sales and Operations. In addition to his position as CEO of VCA Fusion, he was also named President of VCA in 2002. David currently resides with his wife and two children in Central New Jersey and is an active member of PSNI (Chairing the Technology Committee for 8 years), Siggraph, and other local industry professional groups.

 

Craig Tepke, Vice President of Operations

Craig Tepke joined the VCA engineering department in 1997 and contributed to the expansion of VCA’s engineering and installation services in New York. In 2003, Craig was named Vice President of New York Engineering and by 2008, Craig was promoted to VCA’s Vice President of Operations. Craig is responsible for the design and engineering of large scale A/V, digital post-production, and tele-production systems. His duties are to serve as a single point contact for all tasks including: engineering, project management, fabrication, testing, and installation. Craig was instrumental in expanding VCA’s engineering New York presence and in the creation and construction of VCA’s entire 9th floor engineering and fabrication facility. Craig resides in Hudson County, New Jersey.

 

Pat Balestrieri, Controller

Pat Balestrieri joined VCA in August of 2003, as the company’s Controller. He is responsible for all the accounting, finance, purchasing, and front-end operational aspects of VCA. Born in Brooklyn, NY, Pat graduated from Pace University and received MBA’s in both Finance and Accounting from St. John’s University in Queens, NY. Over the years, Pat has held various accounting positions (from Accounting Supervisor to CFO) in a commodity brokerage firm, a chemical importer/exporter, and designers and manufacturers of both luggage and apparel. Pat resides in Somerset, NJ with his wife and three children. Pat is very active in the local community and sports clubs with his children. In addition, Pat acts as Treasurer for the Rankling Township Wrestling Club and teaches Finance and Accounting courses for the Corporate College Services.

 

Chuck Heuer, Special Projects Manager

Chuck Heuer currently serves as VCA’s Special Projects Manager providing leadership and oversight to VCA’s largest projects. As Special Projects Manager, Chuck has been instrumental in the completion of several major installations including Comcast and the United Nations. Chuck joined VCA in 2001 as part of the systems integration team and has spearheaded several internal projects to enhance efficiency at VCA. As a graduate from the University of Rochester, Chuck spent most of his professional career with Modern Telecommunications, Inc. where he served as Chief Engineer and Director of Engineering for 18 years. In 1997, he moved to Click 3X, served as National Director of Technology, and was soon promoted to Chief Technical Officer of the parent organization, IllusionFusion. Chuck lives in Westchester County, New York, and has two grown children. He enjoys travel and outdoor sports.
